Viorel ION Bio-Résumé

Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture since 2008. PhD in Agronomy since 2002. His Technical skills and competences are related to: (i) biology, ecophysiology and yield formation and evaluation of the field crops; (ii) crop technologies of the field crops; (iii) and agricultural consultancy while research thematic to Research thematic on Biology and ecophysiology of field crops; Crop technology of the field crops; Energy biomass; Agricultural consultancy; Organic farming; Melliferous characteristics and self-fertility of the entomophilous field crops; Modelling, optimization and forecasting of the yield at field crops. Involved in various national and international projects as director or responsible for 11 projects and team member for the implementation of 50 projects. He published 29 books and brochures published in publishing houses; 21 books and brochures published locally; 108 scientific papers published in full and 52 scientific papers published as abstracts. Prof. Ion participated in 113 scientific events (symposiums/conferences/congresses/workshops) and 149 scientific presentations within scientific events. He is member of 22 organizing committees and 9 scientific committees of scientific events and chairman in 7 scientific events. Member of the Scientific Committee and member of the Editorial Board of the following journals: „Scientific Papers. Series A. Agronomy“ (ISSN-L 2285-5785) and „AgroLife Scientific Journal“ (ISSN-L 2285-5718). Member of the Editorial Board of the journal „Romanian Biotechnological Letters“ (ISSN 1224-5984). Member of European Society for Agronomy (since 2014) and member of the International Sunflower Association (since 2016). Evaluator of the research projects IDEI_PCE_2011 (2014, 2016) financed through the Romanian National Research Program. Evaluator of the Romanian research institutes for their accreditation (2018). Official reviewer in the committee for the assessment of 14 PhD theses.
