Vlado KOVACEVIC Bio-Résumé

Vlado Kovacevic was born in Bizovac (Croatia), July 19, 1948. He graduated from the University of Osijek (Faculty of Agriculture, the field Husbandry) in 1970. He received his MSc from the University of Zagreb in 1975 (Faculty of Agriculture, the field Soil science and Plant nutrition). In 1980 he received his PhD in University Novi Sad (Faculty of Agriculture). He received German fellowships Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft (1976) and DAAD (1994 and 1998) foundations. He was appointed docent in 1982, associate professor in 1986 and full professor in 1990. Vlado Kovacevic published with co-workers or alone 10 books, 6 chapters in books and total 512 scientific, revial and professional articles and 153 abstracts. Total 80 articles were indexed in Web of Sciences (WoS) and 133 in CABI databases. In the other journals were published 61 articles. Total 253 articles were published in the proceedings from scientific meetings. He participated on 98 scientific meetings from this 12 were out of Europe. Vlado Kovacevic was employed in Agricultural Institute Osijek from 1971 to 1992 (full time) and in Faculty of Agruculture Osijek from 1978 to 1992 in part time and from 1992 to 2014 in full time as professor of Special Farming (The Cereals).. He was mentor of five PhD Thesis, three Master thesis and 202 graduated articles of students. He is retired since October 1, 2014. The fields of his scientific activities were maize and wheat nutrition, genetic aspects of plant nutrition and response of maize genotypes to soil stress. He decorated 1997 from President of Croatia by Croatian medal Red Danice hrvatske with Ruder Boskovic image.  Also, he decorated 1998 from Croatian Parliamen tby State Prize for Science. He is married with Nada Kovacevic (born Žujić in Brekinja, municipality Bosanska Dubica, B&H).
