Dragan MILATOVIC Bio-Résumé

Dragan Milatović was born in 1965 in Niksic, Montenegro. He graduated at the Faculty of Agriculture, University in Belgrade in 1989. At the same faculty he achieved MSc and PhD degree, both in Pomology. He is at the position of full professor at the Department for Fruit Science. Research work of Dragan Milatović is addressed the following areas: evaluation of cultivars and rootstocks of fruit trees, genetic analysis of the germplasm of stone fruits, flower biology of stone fruits, agro-ecology. Dragan Milatović has published 220 scientific papers, of which 18 papers in international journals (SCI list). He is the author of two scientific monographs: “Sweet and sour cherry” (two editions, 2011 and 2015) and “Apricot” (2013). He has participated in six projects funded by the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia and one international FP7 regpot project. He is currently engaged in two national projects (period from 2011 to 2018). During 1994 he attended the course "Production and economics of nut crops" in Reus (Spain), and in 1996 he conducted a two-month training in the field of fruit breeding in “HRI East Malling” in England. He was head of the Department of Fruit Science of the Faculty of Agriculture (2009-2015). Also, he was editor-in-chief of the "Journal of Agricultural Sciences" (2013-2014), convener of Third Balkan Symposium on Fruit Growing organized by ISHS (and the editor of Acta Horticulturae proceedings) and editor of three Proceedings of the conferences "Innovations in Fruit Growing". He is reviewer of many international and Serbian scientific journals. He is a member of the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS) and the Serbian Scientific Pomological Society. He speaks English and Russian languages.
